BEAUTY QUEEN AND MODEL…..MISS IMOH KAMSI ADA
The 21years old Taurus
Beauty Gives us an insight into her life…childhood, love life, career,
and everything that keeps her going
AMA-NUEL: Please Introduce Yourself.?
MISS KAMSI; I am Imoh Kamsi Ada, A graduate of Banking and Finance from Madonna
University, I am the first and only daughter of my parents, my Dad is late but
my Mum is a Regional Planner in FCDA…..I have two younger brothers, I am
21years old .
AMA –NUEL; How was growing up?
MISS KAMSI; OH (smiles) it was interesting, full of love and endless attention
from my family especially as the only daughter and I was my daddy’s Princess
AMA-NUEL; I can imagine…. Am guessing you didn’t
have any childhood regrets?
MISS KAMSI: (Smiles) I did have…..Losing my daddy at the age of 15, was traumatic
experience for me. I had just finished my secondary school then. He died of
Cancer
AMA-NUEL; How did the Modeling Bug bite you;
MISS KAMSI; I started modeling at
17years,in my 200level…..I had the most amazing roommates and friends(Eva,
Nelo, Denise, Ella, Maureen, Blessing, Linda and especially Nnenna Madu) in
school who constantly reminded me of how I had the physique of a model and they
kept pushing me, and then meet Mr. Kachi in Owerri who Advised me to contest
in a beauty pageant. I contested in my
First Pageant (MISS IMO TOURISM QUEEN)
with my close friend Blessing
Eziocha, in December of 2011 and I finished as the second runner up and
that was how it started.
AMA-NUELS; did you have any challenges?
MISS KAMSI;
Yeah…(Laughs) Been Naive was a major challenge, because it stopped me for
exploring most of the opportunities I had, and my Mum too…because anything she
was not in support of didn’t just feel right to me ,but presently she is my
major fan and my support system
AMA-NUEL:
People say pageants are just about
parading pretty girls around in pretty dresses and swimsuits, and that they
belittle women. What’s your take on this?
MISS KAMSI:
Honestly, those were my thoughts at first, but after reflecting on the women
that these pageants produce, I realized that this was truly not the case. Now I
see that pageants are about recognizing the worth of women and appreciating
their overall beauty and priceless qualities, like warmth, strength,
intelligence, ability to manage time—a great feat when having to manage work
and training for the pageant—and effectiveness in balancing their energy in
every aspect of their lives. Being a woman takes a lot more than just
maintaining a great face and physique— it’s also about being able to go through
hardships while carrying on in life. We women tend to be more emotional
creatures, and as such, are more vulnerable to breaking under pressure.
However, we show our true strength by overcoming these hardships, while at the
same time successfully playing the roles of lover/wife/mother/sister/
daughter/housewife/professional and the list can go on and on. Pageants recognize
and praise this!
AMA-NUEL; Professional women often have problems in
finding the right balance between career and family. Which comes first for you?
MISS KAMSI; Family, definitely. Growing up in a family of five(my
mum dad and 2 brothers) showed me the importance of family unity, and the role
of each member. My parents have had to, and continue to sacrifice, giving selflessly
for each of us, making us all realize that the material things aren’t what keep
us together and get us through everyday life. They’ve taught us the values,
morals, and principles that we so diligently display (or attempt to, at
least!). My sisters and I have learnt the value of sharing and recognizing that
we all need each other in this world. Support and encouragement, love and care
all start at home, and these influence and build character.
AMA-NUEL: What inspires you?
MISS KAMSI: The fact that there is so much to live for. There is such a big world
out there and so much to live for that if I were to let it pass me by, I’d miss
out on a great opportunity to just.....live.
AMA-NUEL; Tell us about your spiritual life.
MISS KAMSI:
Spirituality is extremely important in everyday life. I derive my spirituality
from my Anglican base, and place a lot of trust in God. Each person has a different
way of being in touch with his or her spirituality. For me, I believe that God
has a plan for each of us, and whatever He gives us–good or bad–He will take us
through.
AMA-NUELS: Modeling and Pageantry, which is your
FAVOURITE?
MISS KAMSI: I love the both but I did choose pageantry, because been a beauty
queen comes w this Grace and responsibilities
AMA-NUELS; Have ever won any pageant?
MISS KAMSI; yes…I was the queen of my school ( MISS MADONNA UNIVERSITY) in 2012 and I represented my school in
Miss University Nigeria and I was the first runner up for Miss Imo State in
2012 too, Face of signatures Imo State.
AMA-NUELS; who is your Role Model?
MISS KAMSI; sincerely speaking…My Mother….(MRS
NNENNA AGNES IMOH) She is everything I want to be in a
woman, I have seen her in good, bad, ugly and worst situations but the way she
handle everything that comes her way inspires me…I am so lucky to have her as a
role model because she has helped me grow.
